FINAL GAME OF THE SEASON SEES WARWICK PLAY BIRMINGHAM BULLS

Warwick Men's Lacrosse finish their season this Saturday at home where they will take on Birmingham Bulls in the final of the Senior competition of the West Midlands Cup. The game marks the last for captain James Aris, who has taken Warwick to a brilliant season record of 9-5-1 so far, and to victory in the men's competion at SalouFest '08. The West Midlands Cup final will be the first appearance for Warwick Men's Lacrosse in a SEMLA final.
So far this season Warwick are 1-1 with Birmingham. On the 10/11/07 warwick ran out 19-5 winners with Duncan Trenholme leading the way (7,5) while recently on 01/ 03/08 the Bulls played smart lacrosse to run out 10-8 winners with Mike North (3,1) leading on the day. Warwick will be looking for revenge after this game eventually ended Warwick's title hopes.
This season Birmingham have proved to be one of the picks of the teams in the Midlands league, and were recently crownded Midlands Flags winners after a 12-7 win over Loughborough, their first win over Loughborough for two seasons. Birmingham are in good form, and Warwick will look to continue their competition winning form from Saloufest 08.
Warwick have had a superb season, and are led on offense by Duncan Trenholme (37,28), James Aris (43,19) and Seb Croft (36,24) who have all posted over 60 points on the season so far. At the face-off x Seb Croft has been outstanding winning
227 from 287 face-offs (0.791) in all competitive games, while Mike North has won 24 of 36 (0.667). The defence has been outstanding keeping teams to 6.8 goals against average, with Tom Riddlestone making 127 saves (0.632).
Make sure you catch all the action next Saturday. The day will also host the minor final (Portsmouth v Swansea 2's) and the intermediate final (Cardiff Harlequins v Nottingham).
