The second half of the season so far…
The final stages of Warwick’s season saw them continue their unbeaten run with victories over Nottingham (15-9), Staffordshire (20-3) and Aston (27-12) in a double header. Asides from being held to a thrilling 8-8 draw by Loughborough, very little ever looked like it would displace Warwick from the top of the table. They are undefeated this season, having only the draw with Loughborough as a blemish on their record.
James Aris has been outstanding in attack, with Tom Riddlestone strong in goal. The influx of fresher talent to the team, including Emily Maclennan, Jess Hartley, Charlie Lankston, etc have also helped to keep the team young, fresh and full of talent. Defensive stalwart Aaron Fox and next years captain Mike North have also been integral to the team and have had big games when the time counted. Greg Gott has demonstrated the skills of a fresher to lead the mixed team in the future and is a star to watch out for.
These wins means Warwick are once again the Midlands Mixed Lacrosse Champions for the 4th time in 5 years. A full season review by Alex Twiss will follow shortly.
